- Starting on Oct. 21, I will be hosting a weekly radio show called “Writers Talk, with John Shore” on WPVM 103.7 FM Asheville. The show will air live every Monday from 5-6 p.m., and then be regularly rebroadcast at a time TBA. We’ll turn “Writers Talk” into a podcast, and each show will also stream live on Facebook.
If you know of any fiction / creative writers in the Asheville / Western NC area–novelists, short story writers, poets, playwrights, memoirists (I’m also interested in talking to publishers, book sellers, and book publicists)–whom you think would be down for spending an hour in the (fantastic) WPVM studio in downtown Asheville talking with me about All Things Writing, let me know!
- I’ll be at the SIBA (Southern Independent Bookseller’s Alliance) 2019 Discovery Show in Spartanburg, during the weekend of September 13-15. On Saturday evening I’ll be participating in Parapalooza!, where I will read aloud, “with meaning, feeling, and enthusiasm,” exactly one paragraph from Everywhere She’s Not.
Update: Here’s me at SIBA, on the sales floor, pretty fully representing Everywhere She’s Not:
- On Thursday, September 26, at 6 p.m., I’ll be presenting Everywhere She’s Not (that is, reading from the novel, and then taking questions about it) at Malaprop’s Bookstore, 55 Haywood St. in downtown Asheville. 828-254-6734.
Update: Here’s my at Malaprop’s, making what I’m sure was an extremely trenchant point:
